鈥淟GBTQIA+ Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots and to recognize the immense impact that LGBTQIA+ communities have had on history. The National Women鈥檚 History Museum is especially dedicated to highlighting the women and nonbinary individuals who have played integral but often overlooked roles in civil rights movements and the struggles to achieve equity and justice for all.鈥

Pride Month is the perfect time to talk with students and people of all ages about LGBTQ people and their struggles to achieve equity and justice in all aspects of their lives. Let鈥檚 all take this opportunity to learn about important LGBTQ people in history and read literature that features LGBTQ people. It is also a good time to analyze heterosexism and explore its causes and solutions.
While we do encourage everyone to dig into the resources below this month, 鈥淟GBTQ history is U.S. history and should be integrated into the curriculum throughout the school year.鈥 ADL.org
